MILESTONE FILMS OF MADAN MOHANJI - BHAI BHAI (1956)
BHAI BHAI was indeed a milestone film as it was the first commercial success of Madanji after composing for 6 years. The film was to complete its silver jubilee but was pulled out in 23rd week due to some distributors dispute. The AVM production starred real life brothers, Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar in title roles with Nimmi, Shyama and Nirupa Roy playing the leading ladies. Three songs made it to Binaca Geetmala as they became very popular.
The film was also made in Tamil by AVM, but the Hindi film had fresh music by Madanji. Many YouTube posts, including in some of the links below, wrongly and unfairly credit music to a composer from the South.
