MADAN MOHAN, a journey through his timeless music

A Journey through the timeless music and memories of the legendary composer MADAN MOHAN, presented by his son, Sanjeev Kohli.

Madanji composed for 100 films, giving us almost 700 songs in a 25 year career from 1950 till 1975. Even 46 years after he passed away, Madanji admirers still enjoy reliving his music and experiencing poignant details of his life and creation of his music.

DIL DHOONDTA HAI, has been presented as a live event annually since 2015 by Sanjeev Kohli in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and the most recent in Surat in February 2020. More events were scheduled in Delhi and Pune in 2020 and 2021 but due to the pandemic these had to be cancelled. These are being rescheduled, with also a Bangalore possibility in 2022… all of which will be confirmed in due course based on the pandemic situation.

The event comprises an exclusive screening of a 80 min audio visual, A Journey through his timeless music, created by Sanjeev, featuring rare anecdotes and tributes by distinguished personalities like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey,Yash Chopra, Shivkumar Sharma, Zakir Hussain, Gulzar, Khayyam, Jaidev, R.D. Burman, Jagjit Singh, Kaifi Azmi, Majrooh Sultanpuri and others. Rare composing sessions and comments by Madanji himself, interspersed with clippings of 100 of his memorable songs and some never seen before photos are the highlight of the audio visual. Following a short interval, Sanjeev Kohli shares insights and memories of his legendary father, in a Q&A format. Rare visuals and an additional 40 unforgettable melodies also embellish this journey through memory lane.
