The students of KHALSA COLLEGE, Mumbai, organized a memorable event titled Mausam-e- Madan. This daylong event was a tribute to the life and times of Madanji... it was an event of the students, produced by the students for the students and held in the college premises on 23 July 2011.

The driving force behind the event was Prof. Praveish Vishwanath who was ably assisted by key students Kiran Kaur and Harleen Kaur, all of whom did a wonderful job in conceiving the event.

Mr. Suresh Rao played a role as an advisor.

Students sang and danced to Madanji's popular hits, while his rare songs were showcased in discussions and through audio visuals specially created for the event by the students.

The highlight of the event was the enactment of the story of Veer-Zaara, through its music, and dances performed by the students.

Madanji's sons, Sanjeev and Sameer, were special guests at the event, and were overwhelmed by the passionate efforts by young students to relive the melodies of an era gone by... indeed a testimony to the longevity of good music and the interest of the youth in the magical melodies.
